Objections for appointing Rain as China San Dong ambassador
World star Rain has attracted much objection from Chinese netizens after it was known that he was appointed the publicity ambassador for China SanDong province.
It was reported in Chinese media on 24th December that Rain was appointed the publicity ambassador for China SanDong province, also the hometown of Confucius and a province with long history and culture.

Hacken Lee appeared as a special guest in Sammi Cheng's concert the other night. Tony Leung Ka Fai, Daniel Wu, Chet Lam and Prudence Liew were there to support her too. Charlene Choi bruised for not using stuntman

The window opened at 8pm on 28th December on GMarket for Big Bang’s ‘2010 Big Show’, and the 12,000 seats for 29th January’s show were sold out in just 5 minutes. About 150,000 fans had logged in to get the tickets, making it a record ratio of 12.5:1 competition for the tickets, showing the great interests for Big Bang’s upcoming concert.

Sachiko Sakurai retires from showbiz
Actress Sachiko Sakurai (36) has announced that at the end of this year, she will completely retire from show business, after 20 years in the industry. Her most recent role was in the movie "Ululu no Mori no Monogatari," which just opened in theaters on December 19.
Sakurai explained that she has had many experiences working and studying overseas, and those experiences led her to start thinking about her retirement several years ago. She said that she wants to continue learning more about the world so that she can contribute more to society. However, she did not elaborate on any specific plans for the future.
The actress made her debut in the 1989 Fuji TV drama "Swan no Namida." She gained attention in 1992 when she played a heroine role in the NHK morning drama "Onna wa Dokyou," then got her big break when she co-starred with Hiroyuki Sanada (49) in the 1993 TBS series "Koukou Kyoushi."

Jessica Hsuan’s boyfriend was a crook
Hong Kong actress Jessica Hsuan's boyfriend, South African veterinarian Ruan Bester, has been found to have a history of embezzlement and dishonest conduct, according to Hong Kong media reports.
In 2008, 35-year-old Bester opened the Royal Veterinary Centre, the biggest veterinary clinic in Macau at the time, with Faye Ho, the eldest granddaughter of Macau's 'Casino King' Stanley Ho.
However, the pair got into a serious financial dispute over ownership of the clinic and even went to court. Bester was also found to have misappropriated company funds to pay for his rent.
Bester was said to have roped in Faye Ho to open the hospital after he went through a series of unhappy incidents while working at other veterinary clinics.
Ho agreed to put up HK$5 million (S$1 million) to open the Royal Veterinary Centre with Bester because she felt he was a good vet. She would hold a 75 per cent stake in the clinic while Bester was to own the remaining 25 per cent.
However, on the day they were to sign the contract, Bester asked to increase his stake to 50 per cent but admitted he did not have the funds to do so. Ho agreed to his request, on the condition that Bester will receive no salary for the first two years, and the papers were signed.
Bester was left completely in charge of the clinic. However, Ho found irregularities in the clinic's books and wanted to engage an accountant to check the accounts but Bester refused.
Bester also complained to nurses that he was not being paid for his work despite agreeing to do so as part of his ownership deal. He allegedly boasted he would borrow funds and buy out Ho, but when he failed to secure a loan, Bester incited a strike by the clinic's nurses to force Ho to relinquish her share of the clinic.
When contacted about the matter, Ho, who is also the chairperson of Macau animal welfare group Anima, said: "This is all true but I do not wish to comment further on the issue."
Actress Jessica Hsuan met Bester four years ago at a veterinary clinic but the pair only began dating recently.
Hsuan, 39, even let slip that Bester was her first foreign boyfriend and that she saw him as a potential husband in interviews with Hong Kong newspapers.
These allegations, if they turn out to be true, may very well put the brakes on any marriage plans she might have.

Kim Bum tops J-pop charts
Korean actor Kim Bum has topped Korea's J-pop music chart with his Japanese debut album, according to his agency King Kong Entertainment on Tuesday.
"Christmas Eve's Sky", the title track from his single album released in Japan last month, was ranked at No. 1 on various Internet music sites including Melon and Bugs Music.
"The song had ranked high on charts since its release, but we didn't know it would reach No. 1," an official at the agency was quoted as saying. "Everyone [at the agency] was surprised. We would like to thank the fans in Korea for their huge support."
The actor-turned-singer held a five-city tour in Japan over the Christmas season, performing dinner shows and meeting with some 3,000 fans to promote his debut album.
The 20-year-old actor, who first gained popularity through MBC sitcom "High Kick" in 2006, shot to stardom early this year through KBS TV series "Boys Over Flowers", which is based on a popular Japanese comic series.

Former Hong Kong actress Cherie Chung is set to marry a Singaporean businessman next year, according to Hong Kong media reports.

Simon Yam cheating on Qi Qi in China?
Hong Kong artiste Simon Yam has denied spending a night with an unknown girl at a hotel in China after being spotted by the Chinese media and his wife, Qi Qi, is standing by him.
Apparently, Simon flew to Hangzhou to attend a hotel opening and the Chinese media reported that he brought a girl into the hotel to spend the night. In a phone interview with the Hong Kong media, he explained that the girl was a person who was supposed to pick him up.

Super Junior-M temporarily disbanded?

Japan media, "TVXQ has been monitored in private"
Japanese media revealed that while filming the latest PV in December, members of TVXQ were being forced not to communicate with each other.
SM Entertainment however responded that this is no evidence that they (SME) are monitoring the members in private.
On December 22, 2009, a Japanese weekly women magazine (Women's Self) stated that during the activities in Japan, the communication between TVXQ's has been forbidden and monitored since 3 of the members has filed a lawsuit against SME.
The magazine also wrote that during the activities in Japan, the members were unable to perform well as one. Though all of the members stayed in one room, there was a screen separating them into 3 - 2. Thus, this act seems to forbid interaction between members and to observe their actions. The same situation occurred while they were filming for the PV of their upcoming Japanese single, Break Out. Though the MV was filmed in Japan, there were staffs following them to disallow communication between members.
With regards to this, SME's representative replied via phone, "The article by Women's Self is purely rumour. It is creepy to have this thought that the members are being watched closely. Furthermore, we are in the generation where communication devices are everywhere. This could happen in the 1990s but in today's situation; monitoring them (TVXQ) is implausible and impossible. "

Gary Cao won 6 awards, proving his music talent
2009’s last significant award ceremony, TVB8’s Golden Chart Awards was held on 12/20. Cold Christmas : wanting to act a role "out of the norm"
DaS had spent all her previous Christmas in Hong Kong, Taiwan, such warm places. But this Christmas, the first thing she said after landing in Nan Jing was that she never had seen such a cold christmas ! She was very surprisingly excited about this fact , " Actually, a Christmas should be cold, that fits mmore the feeling of it, this time I finally could find such a feeling in Nan Jing, it's so exciting ! " Because of that, DaS purposedly asked the dirver to take her on a tour of the city. DaS, being known for being good at keeping her looks, despite knowing that Nan Jing had very good dishes, she only had a vegetarian meal in a restaurant for her christmas dinner to keep her figure.

Metro's Best Awards Ceremony 2009 was held on December 26 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center Exhibition Hall. Jing Wong has extreme fear towards cockroaches
Ever since Jing Wong has debuted, everyone has praised him for having good luck. Not only is he the first to release an album out of One Million Star 3 contestants, he also won an important role in idol drama, "Momo Love". His popularity is still rising. What's really distinct about New York is how flashy it is. The fact that people from all over the world gather here is enough, but on top of that, just walking around I have a feeling that I heard a lot of people speaking Spanish. There are many people here who just use English as a tool. In Japan, if you go to the melting pot, Roppongi, the situation might be similar. But here, everything sounds like a foreign language, so it's really cool. The billboards and posters are all in English, too! Even though they're right in front of my eyes, they look like they're in a faraway world. On the other hand, for Americans, kanji apparently looks exotic. There are a lot of people who confidently wear tattoos of words that don't make sense... like the word "yume (dream)". They choose words that Japanese people wouldn't because they think the designs look nice, I guess. I wonder if it's the same feeling as me looking up at a billboard in English.
As an Asian, I can tell if people are Chinese or Korean, but I've heard that it's hard for other people to differentiate. But, the person who just talked to me asked how to say "thank you" in Japanese, which means she knew just by looking at me, right? Am I really Japanese-looking? Sometimes, on my own I think I look sort of Thai?! I'm wearing sunglasses, but still, that's makes it even more different! It's a mystery.
The center of New York, as I experienced and saw it first-hand, was just as I imagined it. As it's portrayed in photographs and movies, there is a strong sense that this is the New York that transmits all sorts of shows and entertainment to the world. When you take a step away to a different area, though, there's a different feel in each place, and it's fascinating. I was surprised to find that even though it's autumn, it's pretty cold. I bet winter is freezing. If I come in the winter, I'd like to come privately so that I can go out whenever I want and return to my hotel when it gets cold (laugh). I'd like to spend my time freely, taking dance lessons and going to some different bars.
Other than that, I'm really satisfied to have accomplished my goal to eat hot dogs while I was abroad. I ate three in just two days (laugh). All of them were delicious, but with that said, Americans' tastes don't match mine at all! That's because I can say with confidence that Japanese food is the best in the world! Compared to any cuisine in the world, in terms of presentation and service, the Japanese are extremely delicate. In Japan, both customers and waiters have to be very attentive. In America, it's just a crash of dishes... and my waiter used a plate full of food to clear space for another plate on my table! I went to a fast food restaurant too, but... there was nothing teriyaki-based! I have a renewed appreciation for how great Japan is. Despite all of that, there was a really delicious sandwich I had in Harlem. This trip allowed me to realize anew that sandwiches go best with coffee, and rice balls are meant to be eaten with green tea!
When I'm away from Japan, I am always hit with the desire to understand my own country more deeply. I take notes about each little place and moment that touches me, and I take lots of pictures. By staying alert and putting up my own antenna to pick up interesting things, coincidental happenings build up to create necessity. When I'm at maximum sensitivity, that antenna won't let go of what it catches. That feeling helps me continue to grow and become a new person. For me, the big push right now is the oncoming Year of the Ox. When I first entered Johnny's, the season was approaching the Year of the Ox, too. This year, coming to New York has also been the Year of the Ox. Don't you think that it's easy to believe that something will happen during the year of your zodiac sign? Many of you might not be be familiar with Patrick Tam because he is not an artist under TVB Corporation. A former actor of TVB has now joined the ATV Corporation to play many drama's lead roles. Recently I have watched one of his old dramas, Relentless Justice and I was amazed of how good his acting skills were. Many artists left TVB to join another agency for obvious reasons, unrealistic contract requirements and unfair assignment allotment. However, I feel that talented actors and actresses deserved to be promoted no matter which company they are with.

Biography
Patrick Tam Yiu-Man has been recognized as a solid character actor in recent years, but his career encountered a few bumps along the way. Born on March 19, 1969, Tam fell in love with performing at a very young age. When he was sixteen, he joined an acrobatic troupe and learned to do somersaults before being lured away by a growing interest in music.
In 1988, he won TVB’s 7th New Talent Singing Competition (Sammi Cheng placed third), and was accepted by Anita Mui as her second official student shortly thereafter. Tam was initially well received by audiences but his later experimentation with non-mainstream music, like jazz, was too radical for them. His record flopped and Warner Music decided not to renew his contract in 1992.
A dejected Tam turned to acting in the mid-nineties. He did a couple of television serials to pay the rent before exploding onto the movie scene with his performance in Beast Cops (1998). His role as Pushy-Pin won him a Hong Kong Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Suddenly, the offers for movies and television came rolling in. He has appeared in almost twenty films since Beast Cops, including Purple Storm (1999), The Legend of Zu (2001) and the underrated Milkyway film, Comeuppance (2000). Tam proved to be the best thing about Born Wild (2001), garnering himself a second Hong Kong Film Award nomination and winning the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Zhang Zi Yi – husband and money stealer?
A group of men had created a scene at a Beijing hotel where Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi resided and later splashed black paint on a giant window advertisement featuring the starlet, sparking speculation that she is involved in some sort of dispute.
Swarms of reporters gathered at the Park Hyatt Beijing hotel lobby on 23 December hoping to catch Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung and her German boyfriend Ole Schreen after a tip-off that the couple was getting engaged at a restaurant at the hotel.
Cheung and her boyfriend were a no-show but reporters spotted Zhang going for a walk with her niece instead. The actress was rumoured to be residing in a luxury apartment at the hotel.
Zhang was immediately surrounded by reporters but managed to escape from the mob.
Later that night at around 11pm, a small group of men dressed in black and sporting sunglasses got off a car and barged into the hotel lobby, demanding that security officers tell them which floor Zhang stayed on.
They then shouted expletives and proclaimed loudly that Zhang had "cheated people of their money" and "seduced someone else's husband".
Half an hour later, two men in hooded jackets pulled up at the hotel's main entrance in the same car as the earlier group and proceeded to splash black paint onto a window advertisement featuring Zhang at a nearby luxury timepiece store.
These bizarre events have led to speculation that Zhang, 30, is involved in a dispute with a businesswoman friend.
According to Chinese media reports, Zhang was in a joint business venture with a friend, however her friend claimed that the actress and her brother Zhang Zinan cheated her of about 200 million yuan (S$40 million) and their relationship soured.
She also accused Zhang of stealing her husband and the two even had an altercation that got physical at the Park Hyatt Beijing hotel.
In response to that night's events and the speculations that followed, Zhang's agent said in an online statement that the actress "had always focused on her film career and was never involved in any joint business ventures".
"We have reported the matter to the police and will take all necessary legal action to protect our dignity," her agent said.
Zhang was engaged to Israeli multi-millionaire Vivi Nevo in February 2008 and the couple were supposed to tie the knot in August this year. However, their relationship has reportedly cooled and their wedding plans have been called off.
Vivi had recently been spotted with a string of beautiful women while Zhang is said to be seeing someone new as well. Who this 'someone' is and his marital status remains a mystery.

Patty Hou engaged to multi-millionaire?
Taiwanese news anchor-turned-television host Patty Hou reportedly got engaged to a multi-millionaire named Huang over the Christmas holidays.
The rumours circulated after the pair celebrated Christmas with their families at an exclusive restaurant in Taiwan which they booked for the event.
Both Huang, 34, and Hou, 31, were educated in the United States and have been dating for months prior to the engagement.
Taiwan media reported that Huang is working in the finance industry and is the son of a construction mogul. His net worth is estimated to be over 10 billion Taiwan dollars (S$436 million). He has been described as being about 1.75 metres tall, fair-skinned, refined and fashionable.
Hou's agent told reporters that "(Hou) has never denied having a good boyfriend, nor has she denied there will be a wedding in the near future, but it's really not so soon', adding that "the company will not stop her from having a secret wedding".
Before her relationship with Huang, Hou was in a high profile romance with popular Taiwanese singer Jay Chou in 2005. She had even said in an interview that they got along so well that there was talk of marriage.
Unfortunately, the Chou-Hou pairing was not to be. Hou announced that they broke up in September 2006, after being together for more than a year.
When asked about his ex-girlfriend's rumoured engagement, Chou, who was on tour to promote his new film "The Treasure Hunter" said, "I can answer but can this not be the headline?"
However, his publicist stopped him before he could comment on the matter.

Raina (After School) and Baek Ji Young collapsed!
Today in Kpop, we see news of 2 Kpop singers collapsing from exhaustion and flu.
First we have After School Raina collapsing from exhaustion and rushed to the hospital. This was according to the group’s company that she has collapsed after filming a year-end special performance at 8pm on 27th December.
It was said that the exhaustion is from preparing for the year-end special performances and carrying out the tight schedule. From the hospital side, it is said that there is no major health problems for Raina.
It has also been reported that singer Baek Ji Young has cancelled her concert performance with high fever, and whether refunds to the concert will be made is still in discussion.
She was set to hold ‘Baek Ji Young Dinner Party’ on 26th and 27th December. The first show on 26th was cancelled due to Baek having high fever. She was sent to the hospital for treatment, and went on stage to perform on 27th December, but because her health conditions have worsened, she was forced to stop the performance halfway that day.
Fortunately it has been confirmed that it is not a case of swine flu but Baek’s health condition is pretty bad. Discussions are in the way if she will continue to hold concert performance again after she recovered.

Goo Hye Soo acted in the popular drama in KBS 2TV 'Boys over Flowers' as 'Geum Jan Di' and was involved in the love triangle between F4 leader 'Goo Jun Pyo' acted by Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong. It has attracted the support of many viewers.
During the broadcast of 'Boys over Flowers', a portion of the viewers supported Goo Hye Soo and Kim Hyun Joong's as a couple, there's also another portion of viewers who were greatly concerned of Goo Hye Soo and Lee Min Ho's love. Andy master 7-star fist
The shooting for New Shaolin Temple will officially start this month, director Benny Chan invited Shaolin Temple’s Lohan Garden’s Reverend Yung Chi whom came to Hong Kong to personally teach Andy Lau Shaolin’s 7-Star fist, integrating real kungfu into the film, the photographs of Andy training was revealed for the first time.
Actually two months ago, Andy had already started training with action director Corey Yuen and action trainer Yuen Tak, he also watched videos on the basics of Shaolin kungfu, until last week Reverend Chow Yung Chi came to Hong Kong to teach Andy the 7-Star fist. Within a few days, Andy had managed to master the 7-star fist.
Andy had been following Reverend Chow and his disciple to practice 7-star fist for the past few days, Reverend Chow’s fist is powerful and fast and gave each step and movement serious instructions and guidance. Andy did not relax, even for small movements, he also practice repeatedly a few times, his hard work and stamina combined into one.
In order to understand the meaning of Shaolin kungfu and make his character more realistic, other than learning kungfu from Reverend Chow, he also visited Shaolin Temple last month and stayed in for three days in hope to understand the true meaning of Shaolin kungfu.
With regards to the three days stay at Shaolin Temple, Andy said: “I’ve never tried meditations in a temple, I only chant sutra and did nothing else, even didn’t carry my mobile phone, only you think of nothing, without any complicated thinking, you can achieve that within three days, you’ll be care free and full of energy. (Did you have a special diet to keep your body in shape?) I maintain the same diet, practicing kung fu is like exercising everyday, thus I had to eat more to replenish. I would mediate 45 minutes everyday, every time I would be full of energy and have a clear mind, this is the practice I have for many years.”
With regards to the teaching of Reverend Chow, this is Andy first time experiencing expressing one’s emotion through kung fu, showing off the truth and spirit of kungfu, actually the Shaolin kungfu is not as simple as other kungfu, it also replenish one’s spirit, combining kungfu and meditation into one.
It is said that Reverend Chow would not accept any disciple outside Shaolin Temple, only interested student approached him in the past which he also rejected them, he broke his rule for the first time for New Shaolin Temple, Reverend expressed: “The Shaolin Temple 20 years ago is for youngsters to watch, this time is to hope that New Shaolin Temple would spread the true meaning of Shaolin kungfu, Shaolin kungfu is not just fighting, it also includes self defence and understanding oneself, this is mediating and fighting into one, it’s an affinity that Andy could learn Shaolin kungfu, without such chance, how would I be able to get close to him?”
