Sammie Yu admits that she & Ronald Cheng are currently "developing"

Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi divorced March 2010. Half a year later, they both found their other halves. As to the reports that he's pursuing iCable's CEN lead announcer Sammie Yu, Ronald departed from his usual "won't respond" stance and used the words 'in the middle of developing" to respond. Yesterday, it was reported that Ronald gave brand name gifts to Sammie, paid for her rent and served as her driver, however has no plans to make her "Mrs. Ronald Cheng". Yesterday Sammie accepted an interview with her colleague Michael Wai at i-Cable and clarified the rumors. She strongly stressed that she and Ronald are "in the middle of developing", and does not want to talk too much about her personal life.

Sammie expressed that she has known Ronald for a period of time now due to work, but it was only recently that they started keeping in touch more often. She wants most to clarify the untrue magazine reports regarding Ronald paying her rent -- her current residence is a shared purchase by her and her younger sister.

As for all the 'brand name' items that Sammie uses, she indicated that she has owned the handbag described in the reports for many years already. Also, she emphasized that she has the ability to take care of herself and won't easily accept gifts from others.

A magazine photographed Sammie in Ronald's car going back to her company, she explained: "That day I just finished having lunch with him -- being a gentleman, he hired a driver to pick me up. Actually my colleagues often drives me around too." At this point in the interview, Michael Wai confirmed this, saying that he has also driven Sammie around as well.

The magazine also claimed that Ronald didn't want his relationship with Sammie to 'see the light' (be revealed), so whenever he's with friends, he never lets her go with him. Sammie emphasized that whenever she and Ronald go out to eat, it's usually with a large group of friends, so she doesn't understand where the magazine's claims of "can't see the light" came from. Sammie also pointed out that the magazine's false reports angered Ronald and they have been in communication with each other about it, but it has not affected their relationship.

Sammie admitted that the constant chasing by the paparazzi is putting alot of stress on her, plus it's also affecting her family's lives as well as their emotions. Her father was especially affected, as he was very unhappy when he saw the magazine cover story. Therefore, Sammie hopes to return to a 'normal life' and handle her relationship in a low profile way.
