Jay Chou’s Pandaman fight scene censored because he is too popular?

Jay Chou’s self-directed idol drama ‘Pandaman’ has been confirmed to hold its premiere event in Shan Dong on January 9th. However, due to Jay Chou’s immense popularity & status, mainland television side feels that his influence is too huge, and they are afraid the drama’s storyline is too violent, and may demonstrate a bad example, especially to young people. Therefore, all the violent scenes & fighting scenes have all been cut out.

‘Pandaman’ will be airing in both Taiwan and mainland China. After the premiere event in Shan Dong on January 9th, they will also hold a premiere event in Shanghai at the end of January. Then, Jay Chou will personally attend all promotional events. And from February 2nd, ‘Pandaman’ will officially air on Shen Zhen TV (SZTV) & Shan Dong TV (SDTV). As for Taiwan, the broadcasting station is determined to air the uncut version, and everything will be edited by Jay Chou himself.
